This basic checking account has no monthly service fee, unlimited check writing and no minimum balance.
This interest-bearing checking account offers unlimited check writing, and no service fee if minimum balance requirements are met.
50 Plus Checking
Available to customers age 50 and older, this interest-bearing checking account offers unlimited check writing and no service fee if minimum balance requirements are met. Minimum balance requirements are lower than for Interest Checking, and some other benefits are available to our 50 Plus Checking customers.
James River Checking
This premium banking package rewards you for having more of your banking relationship with our bank. James River Checking is an interest-bearing account with unlimited check writing and no monthly service fee if balance requirements are met taking into consideration all of your accounts with us. Many other benefits are available to James River Checking customers.
Blue Ridge Money Market Account
This interest-bearing money market account offers some of the flexibility of a checking account paired with the interest structure of a savings account. While interest rates for this account are normally higher than those for our checking accounts, minimum balance requirements are higher and there are limits on the number of monthly transactions.
Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) were created in 2003 so that individuals covered by high-deductible health plans could receive tax-preferred treatment of money saved for medical expenses. Generally, an adult who is covered by a high-deductible health plan (and has no other first-dollar coverage) may establish an HSA. The Bank of the James Health Savings Account offers a preferred interest rate, unlimited check writing for a reasonable monthly fee.
*Bank of the James does not charge for Mobile Money; however, your service provider may charge fees for use of mobile/text banking services.
