As a measure of our commitment to our community, Bank of the James has continually reinvested in Region 2000 since the bank opened in 1999. In keeping with the spirit of giving back to our community, this year we will invest over $220,000 in local programs for education, arts and culture, and non-profits.
In 2013, we honored 18 high school seniors with $500 as recipients of the Bank of the James' Ronald V. Dolan Citizenship Awards. Our commitment to education has been manifested in contributions to the Central Virginia Governors School, The Lynchburg City School's Education Foundation, the purchase of library books and bicycles for Marvin Bass Elementary, in addition to our support of many other school and sports programs.
Our commitment to the arts and culture in Region 2000 included donations and sponsorships for many organizations, among them are the Academy of Fine Arts, Amazement Square, Poplar Forest, the Lynchburg Batteau Festival and the Virginia Ten Miler.
Bank of the James also gives to numerous non-profits and local organizations that serve Region 2000. The following organizations were selected to be beneficiaries of our community giving within the past year.
Organizations requesting consideration for support should contact Vickie Spencer, Bank of the James, 828 Main Street, Lynchburg, Virginia 24504; 434-846-2000; firstname.lastname@example.org.
