| Lynchburg, Virginia, November 14, 2011… At a recent Board of Directors meeting, Katrina Y. Rice was promoted to Senior Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer and Phillip E. Brown was named Assistant Vice President and Collections Manager.
Mrs. Rice joined Bank of the James in February 2004 as a Mortgage Loan Consultant for Bank of the James Mortgage. In November 2004 she transferred to the bank's Commercial Lending Division. Mrs. Rice has 19 years of experience in financial services and holds a paralegal certificate from National Academy of Paralegal Studies. She currently serves on the Lynchburg Economic Development Authority's Loan Committee.
Mr. Brown began his banking career with Bank of the James in August 2001. Prior to joining Bank of the James, he was employed with Central Fidelity Bank for 24 years. His expertise is in the fields of bankruptcy law and collections. He holds a bachelors and masters degree from Eastern Theological Seminary. He currently serves on the board for the Business Development Center in Lynchburg and serves as president of the Bedford County/Bedford City Voters League. He is also a board member of the Bedford Community Christmas Station.
